The mild climate enables year-round outdoor activities like biking, running and skating along the coastal pathway that links Del Rey with Malibu to the north and Palos Verdes to the south. Water sports enthusiasts can take advantage of equipment rentals and lessons for windsurfing, kayaking, scuba diving, and more at any of the many nearby public beaches. You can even charter a deep-sea fishing or whale watching expedition, if you choose.

Getting Around

Avalon Del Rey is centrally located in West Los Angeles, linked to major freeways, metro rail lines and city bus routes. Convenient to the 405, 10 and 105 freeways, Del Rey offers easy access to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Century City. LAX is a short three miles away, and Marina Del Rey is linked by shuttle to outlying airports, including Burbank and Long Beach. Union Station, one of the last grand passenger train stations in the country, is a half hour away in downtown LA. Of course, the marina offers exceptional boat access, if you’re so inclined.
